
I know there are badges or symbols we see on cars and we wonder what they truly mean, some which I’ve explained in previous posts, but others I will do now. I’ve gotten questions in the past like, what does Hybrid mean, What does CR-V mean, here we look into the full meaning of some of these everyday symbols we see on our cars.
SUV: This Stands for SPORT UTILITY VEHICLE, this unarguably has become one of the most popular inventory item for many Manufacturing Companies.. You can read more this by clicking this Link…
CR-V: This stands for Compact Recreation Vehicle, some others insist it stands for “Comfortable runabout Vehicle” this is Honda’s rival to the Toyota’s RAV-4.
RAV-4: This is an acronym for Recreational Active Vehicle, This is one of Toyota’s best selling Cars.
SR5: Sport Rally 5.
TSS: This Stands for Toyota Sporting Series.
HRV: This stands for High -Rider Revolutionary Vehicle, a smaller version of the Honda CR-V.
SRT: Street and Racing Technology. Used in Dodge Vehicles for High Octane Performance.
2700: When you see this number usually on a Hilux, it stands for the engine capacity of that particular Hilux, which is a 2.7litre Engine.
D-4D: stands for Direct Injection 4 Cylinder Common Rail Diesel Engine .
Hybrid: A Hybrid electric vehicle is powered by an internal combustion engine and one or more electric motors, which uses energy stored in batteries.
TL: This is model in Acura, which Stands for Touring Luxury.
MDX: This is also a model under Acura that stands for Multi Dimensional Luxury.
RDX: Also an Acura model that stands for Refined Dimensional Luxury.
VVTI: You get to see this in many Toyotas, it stands for Variable Valve Timing with Intelligence.
VVT: Variable Valve Timing.
VVTLI: Variable valve timing and Lift Intelligent System.
EFI: This stands for Electronic Fuel Injection.
GDI: This stands for Gasoline Direct Injection. You get to see this symbol mostly on Mitsubishi Vehicles.
TSI: This stands for Turbo Stratified Injection or Turbocharged Stratified Injection in Volkswagen.
TDI: Turbocharged Direct Injection, this is mostly seen in Diesel Engines.
GTI: This Stands for Grand Tourer Injection.
FSI: This stands for Fuel Stratified Injection or Fuel Straight Injection.
VTEC: Variable Valve Timing & Lift Electronic Control. This is a Honda product and Competitor to the Toyota’s VVTI.
I-VTEC: This stands for Intelligent Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control.
iMT: This is Toyota Hilux’s manual transmission known as the Intelligent Manual Transmission.
